The Week that was!

May 6^th 2012: Satya was leaving to London for a couple of weeks n we were busy packing…. While I was happy that he was travelling (he likes it!), I was also a little low that he wouldn’t be with me on my birthday! All of us left to the airport to say bye and on my way back I wondered, 2 weeks would be soooo dam long without him….

Little did I realize that it’s not possible at least with Maria in town!!!

Maria…….One of my BEST friends from college, with whom I can be ‘absolutely myself’…. Whatever I do, I know she would be by my side, even if I committed the world’s worst crime…She is one woman who knows alllllllll my secrets & is also my designated secret advisor for the many funny things I have done in my life!

Thursday, May 10^th 2012, Bangalore

I had to dress up that evening, inspite of havin a long day at work…

Cause: When Maria is around, the camera is very busy! We pose more than we talk <smiles>

We (Maria, Sachy, Richie, Diana, Chan & gang) met at TOIT, Indiranagar….Had some drinks, I hogged like a pig and Richie as usual kept us up! With Richie around its always fun! We then chose to go to High Note for a bit and came back home…I missed Satya however it was a pleasant evening…. minus a few things… People with me that day, would know what I’m talkin about… lol. We spoke for some time and hit the bed as I had an early day awaiting me….

I could not wait for work to get over on Friday, that evening we were meeting Shilli, Bops - our college gang at HINT! Was a lovely place however that dint matter much cause with all of us together, it was going to be FUN unlimited!

We reached the place by half eight… all of us with a BIG smile on our face, over excited! We hugged, we laughed, we danced, we drank, we screamed, we ate and what not!  Somethin I call a PERFECT PARTY! 

The highlight for that evening was ‘Sachy sharing his socks with Richie’…Who cares about the reason… its The Loouveee that matters!  <lol>

Dinner at Pinkx (my idea!), was quiet & yum…We needed that after all the hullabaloo….All of us silently ate as we were dam hungry …. I must say, it was the best biryani I ever tasted… Thanks for the lovely treat Richie! We drove back home & it was ‘good nite’ after that...

Saturday went well… with Mother’s day… A surprise for Mammali at coffee day…. (Mammali - Maria’s mom)…. Post that IBAR & DJ Aqeel! What a party! All thanks to Shilli… Another amazing evening…

Like all good things come to an end…. Sunday came off!! Maria & Sachy leaving!! :(

Again airport, tiny tear drops, big hugs and a good bye~

I love u guys, wish we could do this more often!

2 weeks… my precious

March 16^th - my last day with Thomson Reuters… No more 1-2-1s…. counseling sessions… management.... reports...performance appraisals… interviews… Go bananas at the bay… long walks... complaining about some things….laughing out to glory, late at night….my team… Huh… I do miss a few things!

When I chose to bid goodbye to TR, I did not know what I wanted from life post that… I only knew that my family needs more of my time…. That was it...

I was worried if I’d be able to stay at home doing nothing for long… Knowing me… it’s a BIG NO! :)

When I was all low late last December, someone told me 'good things happen to good people' ;) and VMware happened right on time! Now am all excited to move into this new phase… to work with old friends and to start learning new skills…

However these 2 weeks, I realized many things…. Corporate life and socializing keeps us soooo busy that we ignore the many small things that I now call actual happiness…

It was ages since I sat on the verandah & spoke to dad for hours…. Made tea for mom when she came back from work & asked her how her day was… heard all my sister's stories, about her college & her friends…. Observed Satya silently when he worked on his laptop or watched tv....listened to my grandma and smiled while she cribbed…spent one full day with my little niece playing, dancing & running around……

How did I miss all this & for what???

Life has a lot to offer…. only if we choose to see it….

Difficult as it may be, please put all your work behind when you swipe your badge at the office reception as you leave for the day....Spend quality time with your folks...To be honest... a family is what you make it, we can still alter our directions to make time for our loved ones.... I did!!!

Sep 12th…My special day!

From the past 2 weeks we have been planning… how to celebrate our anniversary… and people who know me, know that I can’t keep plans to myself....was bugging all my friends around for ideas….

Trip…. Party with Friends…. Candle light Dinner!!! Phewwww…. confusion….It was getting closer and we hadn’t finalized on one thing!

Sep 8^th… and Satya tells me…. ‘Look …I have got so many heat boils’....... <my poor kid> …. I chose to run to the doctor immediately only to find out that he is suffering from CHICKEN POX!!!!!!!! For once I hate the word ‘Chicken’…. Grrrrr….N he rushed to Mom’s!!!

One year… It just went by soooo quick! All I can say is…. It was the best decision of my life… each day feels new… The fact that we are miles away from each other today is not a matter at all ….

This day, I want to say it again ‘I love you so much and you mean the world to me…. The way you smile when I keep cribbing for hours… murmur when I push u to eat salads…that look when I wear a color  you don’t like… the grin when you know there will be a ban… <winks> everything actually… makes me love you more…We are and will always be an amazing family… I love you… I love ‘us’… Get well soon….. Happy Anniversary… Big hug’…
